FAQs About Getting Started

  • If you’re new to yoga, be sure to choose a class that is beginner friendly, often labeled, “gentle.”
    It’s best to start in a gentle yoga class that moves at a slower pace, allowing you more time to adapt to the poses as well as learn how instructors cue body alignment.
    Instead of choosing by the schedule, be sure to choose your class by the description that best fits your needs.

  • Be sure to wear comfortable clothes you can move in, and bring a water bottle to keep you hydrated. Mats, props, and anything else you’ll need for class will be provided for your use at the studio, though we welcome you to bring your own mat if you have one!

  • When you arrive at the studio, there is parking available on either side of the building. Please enter through the front doors, leave your shoes on the provided shoe mats and your coats on the coatrack.
    You will then enter through the righthand door into the studio space where you will check-in with the instructor of the class you are attending.
    They will show you where to go and where to find the props you will need.

  • You do not need to be flexible to practice yoga. In fact, yoga is designed to help you increase your flexibility over time! By practicing yoga regularly, poses will become easier and more accessible as your body becomes stronger and more limber. The best way to gain flexibility, is to join us for yoga classes!

Yoga Class Descriptions

  • Chair Yoga offers variations on yoga poses that can be done while seated in a chair. These modifications make yoga accessible to anyone who needs low-impact exercise to aid in improving mobility.

    In addition to a good stretch, chair yoga participants can enjoy other health benefits from yoga, including improved muscle tone, better breathing habits, stress reduction, better sleep, and a greater sense of well being.

    All levels and abilities welcome: Gentle Class - ideal for less mobile beginners!

  • Gentle yoga is for everyone —whether new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner— eager to relieve stiffness, and seeking a gentle, less active practice!

    Gentle yoga provides numerous health benefits, including reduced stress, improved circulation, increased balance and flexibility, and improved sleep.

    All levels and abilities welcome: Gentle Class - ideal for less mobile beginners!

  • Slow Flow classes progress slowly and hold each pose for several breaths to strengthen and tone the entire body, while providing the foundations of a yoga flow class by focusing on breath and alignment.

    This great introductory yoga class allows beginners to learn the fundamentals of yoga and all practitioners to benefit from the calming effects of uniting body and mind. 

    All levels and abilities welcome: Gentle Class - ideal for mobile beginners!

  • Yoga Flow classes are designed to help you turn off the chatter in your brain by moving your body. This active, energizing sequence of yoga poses links breath to movement to enhance flexibility, strength, range of motion and concentration.

    Sequencing flows with upbeat music helps build heat to strengthen and tone the body. Modifications are provided by instructors to accommodate all levels, though some yoga experience is recommended. 

    All levels welcome: Active Class — ideal for mobile practitioners with some yoga experience!
