Nourish to Thrive: Celebrating Women in Wellness

We are so excited to feature our ongoing, year-round series focused on interactive experiences with a variety of women in wellness.

Nourish to Thrive: Celebrating Women in Wellness offers a variety of wellness and self-care practices to our Northern Life Yoga community. We are thrilled to support women wellness practitioners from our greater Eastern Upper Peninsula community who bring new perspectives, approaches, and practices to our spacious studio where we gather to learn and grow together.

This spring, we kicked off the series with a beautiful new offering: Beth Lindley’s SoulCollage workshop that explored creativity as an avenue for accessing personal intuition and imagination, and discovering deeper truths about the self. Through the creation of personal tarot cards using collage with simple materials--images, scissors, glue and card stock–participants became more familiar with their innermost wants and needs, and discovered some of the people and places that have shaped their life’s journey, learning more about themselves in the process.

In collaboration with Mattie Lockhart of Bloom Co., we hosted an event between Earth Day and Mother’s day called, “Bloom and Renew: A Celebration of Moms & Mindfulness.” This celebratory event brought together the beauty of nature through locally-sourced flowers, mindfulness, and movement with an afternoon of relaxation in celebration of moms! In this sold-out event, women of all ages made connections, created beautiful flower bouquets, participated in a group meditation and gentle movement, and received the benefits of mini healing arts sessions with Shelly (Lake Superior Roots) and Autumn (Reiki Master). Four of our participants discovered they were related and met in our studio thanks to this event!

This summer, Stacy Storey of Full Potential joined us to offer a two-session mini-series: One Day or Day One, to share the benefits of rucking, a weight-bearing exercise that brings women together in the great outdoors working toward a stronger, healthier future. She offered demonstrations and shared all of the many incredible offerings she brings to the community through Full Potential.

Not just another sound bath, Elemental Alignment, created by Kimberly Reid and Susan Linz, is an evening of sound, intention, and cacao, weaving together the ancient wisdom of sound healing, the gentle power of plant-based, aroma-therapy energy clearing, and the sacred ritual of cacao from Costa Rica. This heart-centered, safe, and supportive space allows practitioners to reflect, release, and receive what they need, while gently rooted in intention and mindfulness.

These events are only the beginning as we’ll continue to spotlight interactive events and discussions with wellness practitioners from across the Eastern Upper Peninsula

Interested in offering a wellness event? We’d love to hear from you!
